Every change to Preview as it ships: what changed on the canvas, in generation, assets, review and the agent, and where to find each one.

## Changelog

What’s new in Preview, and where to find it.

### Split view

2026-11-04 · Workspace

![The Dry Creek project with Canvas 1 and the Dry Creek script split side by side in one tab, the canvas holding seven western stills and the script showing its three scenes](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/split-view.0a1fzfqk79y7-.webp)

Read the scene while you build its board, without flipping between tabs. Drag a tab to the left or right edge of the workspace and the two documents sit side by side, each keeping its own edits and selection. Choose **Show stacked** to put one above the other, and drag the divider to give either side more room. **Split view** on the tab you're in opens the New Tab page beside it, so you can pick the second document from there.

**How to find it:** Drag a tab to the left or right edge of the workspace, or right-click a tab and choose Split view.

### Tabs

2026-11-04 · Workspace

![The Mirage project with three pinned tabs and the Golden hour board open, the pointer on the pinned Product board and its preview card showing the canvas image](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/home-and-pins.0at8_41od3g4h.webp)

The script, the lookdev board and tomorrow's shot list can all stay open at once. Canvases, scripts, shot lists and Files folders open as tabs that keep their place while you switch between them, and the New Tab page starts the next one. Pin the boards you check every day, up to five per project, and the project opens on Home with them one click away. Close the project and come back later in the same browser, and the tabs you had open return in the same order, splits included.

**How to find it:** Open a canvas, script, shot list or folder from Files and it opens as a tab. Right-click a tab and choose Pin tab.

### Files

2026-11-03 · Assets, Workspace

![The Files sidebar as a tree for the Low Tide project, with script, location and lookdev folders open, the draft script open beside it and the preview card of the Harbour board canvas](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/files.0ikap1hkynj_-.webp)

Set the project up the way your production is set up: a folder for the script, one per location, one for lookdev. Files holds scripts, uploads, canvases and shot lists in one tree you arrange yourself, and anything in it opens in a new tab or a split.

**How to find it:** Open the Files panel in the sidebar. Tree or grid and sorting are in its More options menu.

### Annotate

2026-11-02 · Review & sharing, Canvas

![Annotate open on a harbour still, with a note, an arrow and an ellipse drawn on it and the Ellipse properties panel open](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/annotate.42x7afl7iuipt.webp)

Some notes are easier to draw than to write, like "warmer key light here" with an arrow to the face. Open the take in Annotate and sketch, type and place reference images right on the frame. Saving puts it beside the original as a new take, with every mark still editable.

**How to find it:** Right-click an image take on the canvas and choose Annotate, the brush icon at the top of the menu.

### Click to pick in Annotate

2026-11-02 · Review & sharing, Assets

![Annotate after a click to pick, zoomed in on a boardroom photo with the picked take of a man on the telephone at his desk placed over its corner and its image properties open](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/annotate-click-to-pick.2ggfp6kzivjw9.webp)

Want the lookdev still next to the frame you're marking up? In Annotate, choose **Click to pick** and click that still on the canvas or in the sidebar. It drops into your markup, and the canvas snaps back to where you were.

**How to find it:** Open a take in Annotate, open its image menu and choose Click to pick.

### Crop and tool sizes in Annotate

2026-11-02 · Review & sharing

![Annotate on a spaceship corridor still, with a portrait of an astronaut added at the top left mid-crop at 2:3 and the Image properties panel open on Transform](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/annotate-crop-and-sizes.0da0isgrmx_up.webp)

A reference you drop into a markup often only needs its middle. Select the image in Annotate and click **Crop** in the Image properties panel, then drag the handles or choose Original, Square, Circle, Landscape, Portrait or Wide; the image file itself isn't changed. Press `[` and `]` to step the size of the active tool or of what you have selected, and Annotate remembers the brush and eraser sizes you used last.

**How to find it:** Open a take in Annotate, add an image, select it and click Crop in the Image properties panel.

### Folder shortcuts on the canvas

2026-11-02 · Canvas, Assets

![Canvas 1 with a shortcut card for the Storfjorden ice edge folder, twice a take's width, on its own row between two rows of Arctic stills, and the same folder open in the Files tree beside it](https://preview.io/_next/static/immutable/media/folder-shortcuts.30b4h56tcbj9p.webp)

Keep a location's reference folder on the board you're building for it. Drag any folder from Files onto the canvas, including one inside a character, location or prop, and it lands as a shortcut to that folder. Images inside those folders still drag onto the canvas as images.

**How to find it:** Drag a folder from Files onto the canvas.
